Today was a pretty amazing day.  I got to sit in on interviews for a new special ed teacher to give the parent point of view.  I got to ask questions.  I got to ask follow up questions.  I was able to give my opinion of the candidate and raise any concerns I had.

It was completely fabulous.  I love our school system.  When they say they believe in a team-based, collaborative approach, they’re not just talking.  They’re doing.  I find them to be so easy to work with.  We’re willing to be open minded, to try an intervention to see how it works, and when we have concerns to voice them respectfully.  In return, they’re completely open to hearing us and to addressing issues when they arise.

I know this isn’t the case for so many of our kids.  Which makes me that much more grateful for G’s situation.
